Macao is the home of the Macau Grand Prix, here you will re-live the fascinating history of this unique event and experience first-hand the exhilaration of motorsport. See the Grand Prix cars and motorcycles from across the decades and learn about the drivers, riders, teams and personalities who have made their mark on this captivating story since 1954. Over decades of motorsport is represented here, presented as a 21st century, immersive experience like no other.
The Macao Grand Prix Museum, under the management of Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) was officially inaugurated on 1 June 2021, after remodeling, the Museum now consists of four floors amounting to a total floor area of approximately 16,000 square meters, six fold than before. The Museum is designed for visitors to learn more deeply about the Macau Grand Prix (MGP) while enjoying the informative entertainment and leisure experience. The remodeling construction project is accredited with the gold standard of the green building certification Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED).
To boost the charm of the Museum and enrich visitors’ experience, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and Madame Tussauds Hong Kong make their first collaboration happen to exhibit wax figures of eight renowned racing drivers at the Macao Grand Prix Museum starting from 27th March 2023. Five of the eight figures, as replicas of the drivers John Macdonald, Ron Haslam, Michael Rutter, Robert Huff and Edoardo Mortara, are brand-new waxworks of Madame Tussauds for this collaborative project. The other three figures were recast to portray Ayrton Senna da Silva, Lewis Carl David Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel.
